This email was recently sent in response to a non-working micrometer inquiry in the Quality Lab at my place of work.

After an extensive, time consuming, mentally exerting investigation, I’ve concluded the Micrometer lacked a charging apparatus in the primary cell compartment.  To immediately remedy this situation and restore the laboratory to full operation, I have acquired a singular primary cell and equipped it.  After completing said actions, I proceeded to verify the contrivance by exercising the gyratory spindle to ensure numerical values would display on the LCD screen.  Once confirmed, I positioned the Micrometer within its protective sheathing, secured the case, and replaced it.  At that time, I felt no further actions were required.

I have a sneaking suspicion that you knew this however, and thought it would be quite funny to send me on this exhausting investigation.  J
