I recently received an email with the subject line “Robert, the worst villain in history is… “.  With a subject like that I had to open it.  At first I was thinking it would be something about laziness or procrastination but who was mentioned totally floored me.  The worst villain in history is Robin Hood.

What?  Robin Hood?  The guy who stole from the rich to give to the poor?  Yes and that is exactly why he is a villain.

The reasoning was that the story of Robin Hood teaches us to hate those who have more.  Even though we want to become rich ourselves we are led to believe that the rich are to be hated because they have money (which they worked hard to achieve) and we don’t.

What Robin Hood should have done is show the poor how to become rich themselves.  It’s the old saying, “Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.  Teach a man to fish, feed him for life.”

Today there are so many opportunities on the internet to make money and do well for yourself.  It’s just a matter of learning how to do it.  Doing a simple Google search will show many ways, from Ebay to affiliate marketing and Amazon or your own web site there are a plethora of choices to choose from.

You don’t need Robin Hood to steal you some money.  All it takes is for you to get up off your butt and do something about it.  Get it in your mind that you can and will succeed and you can change your circumstances for the better.

  6. Awesome to hear that!

  7. Read Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand

  8. Robin Hood actually stole food, and money for the poor to pay taxes so that they wouldn’t be thrown in an already overcrowded debtors jail. Also, realize that the poor people he was helping were poor enough that they couldn’t even afford food. So if feeding the hungry, and protecting those who had no one else to protect them means villainhood, then maybe villains aren’t so bad. Except for say, Hitler or Vlad the Impailer. Who apparently are historically less villanous than Robin Hood, according to your article.

  9. ^^ DAYUM I THINK ROBERT JUST GOT OWNEDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
